I saw this first Black Throated Sparrow at the end of the Interdune Boardwalk at White Sands National Monument, New Mexico, on April 13th, 2006.

I saw several more Black Throated Sparrows at Rio Bosque and Hueco Tanks parks in El Paso, TX in mid-May 2007.

I saw more at the same sites in El Paso in June 2009. They were pretty common in brushy areas.
