Joyce and I saw these birds on the Port Mahon road near Bombay Hook, DE on May 27th, 2006. We were on a field trip with the Baltimore Bird Club. It is very hard to tell the two types of Dowitchers apart, so I will lump them together here, for now.
I saw these birds on the Port Mahon road on July 3rd, 2006. The first one looks like a Long Billed to me- check out that long bill! The other birds in the photos are Laughing Gulls.
We saw a few Short Billed Dowitchers at Port Mahon on May 25th, 2008.
This group of Dowitchers was in the west pool at Brigantine NWR, NJ on July 4th, 2008.
These Dowitchers were near the Port Mahon Rd in Delaware on August 2nd, 2008.
I saw a few Dowitchers at the same place on May 24th, 2009.
I saw this bird at Bombay Hook NWR on July 25th, 2009.
I think one is a Long-billed Dowitcher. I saw it in Raymond Pool at Bombay Hook on August 13th, 2011.
This Short-billed Dowitcher flew over the water near the DuPont Center in Delaware on May 22nd, 2013.

I saw this very thin-looking Short-billed Dowitcher at Bombay Hook on May 24th, 2014.
This one was at Bombay Hook on May 15th, 2016.
