Total Solar Eclipse8/21/2017 |
Joyce and I saw the total solar eclipse from Santee NWR, SC on August 21st, 2017. We set up near the park visitor center. To beat the crowds, we arrived at about 5:30 AM.
This was our observing field. The size of the parking lot limited the number of people.
The eclipse started with a partial phase as the moon began to cover the sun.
The main event- totality!.
I made a video of our observing field showing the periods just before, during, and just after totality. It's about 3:30 long.
