I saw this bird during a trip to central Texas in mid August 2005. It's hard to tell exactly what kind it is, since you can only see part of the bird. My original guess was that it's a Golden Fronted woodpecker, based on its color and beak. But a Texas birder told me it was a young European Starling in the process of molting.
