I saw these mallards in the water by the Havre de Grace Lock House museum.
These next three birds are domestic mallards. They are also called barnyard ducks, since they normally live in captivity and after many generations of inbreeding, they can look very different from wild mallards. The first two birds were seen at the Havre de Grace promenade on January 14th, 2006. The last one was at the North East Town Park on February 5th, 2006.
I saw these mallard ducklings from the Havre de Grace promenade on June 4th, 2006.
These next mallards flew by the hawk watch platform in Cape May, NJ in mid October 2006.

Joyce and I saw these next mallards at the West Ocean City pond on December 31st, 2007. Note that the head of the first one looks purple instead of green. In the right light, the head color does appear to change.
