I saw these first birds at the Ocean City, MD inlet on 21 January 2007. I was on a trip with the Cecil County bird club. They were on the rocks right below the sidewalk that runs parallel to the jetty.

Joyce and I saw several Purple sandpipers on the rocks by the Barnegat Lighthouse in NJ in November 2007.

I went back to Barnegat Light on December 22nd, 2007 and saw several more Purple Sandpipers.

These were on the north jetty at the Ocean City, MD inlet on January 18th, 2014.
