I saw this grebe at Bolsa Chica Wildlife Preserve, CA on January 29th, 2010.

A pair of Grebes were seen at Loch Raven in Baltimore County, MD starting in November 2020. I saw then on Dec 5th. The experts disagree as to whether both are Western, if one is a Clark's, or if one is a hybrid.
