One of the highlights of our vacation was a boat trip to Machias Seal Island. This island is about nine miles offshore from Cutler, ME. We took a small boat along with seven other passengers for the five hour trip. It took about an hour to get to and from the island, and we spent three hours there. Our tour company did not have a landing permit for the day, so we had to stay in our boat. This was not a problem since we were able to get within about six feet of the Puffins, Razorbills, and Murres.
